Here is a brief synopsis of my book that I am hoping to finish and make into a movie:
"The Absence of God" is a post-apocalyptic story focused on those who are left behind.
David is orphaned as a very young child after his drunken father, Michael, murdered his mother Sarah and his two siblings in cold blood. He is then left to struggle with his own demons as a young adult when the apocalypse takes the only person on earth he found safety and love in: his girlfriend Heather.
Knowing that everything was taken from him as a small child, David grows up in darkness having fallen away from God and now he must decide: Accept the Mark of the Beast or die for a God who has left him abandoned and alone in a life of pain and torment.
There are two side stories that intertwine with the main storyline: Michael's maddening descent into Hell and Sarah's journey to Heaven where she reunites with two of her young children taken from her at such an early age. Will David join them in Heaven or will he take the Mark of the Beast and meet the same fate as Michael?
This is not your typical Christian story, but it will stay true to the Word of God while focusing on scripture to foretell the wondrous events that follow The Great and Terrible Day of the Lord: The Second Coming.
Side Note: This is the first story in a set of THREE. For death is only the beginning.
It all started over 20 years ago. I was lying in bed, unable to sleep, when I saw a vision play through my head. It was like a dream, only I was wide awake.
Once it had ended, I immediately jumped up from my bed and wrote down everything that I had just seen; I didn't know what to make of any of it.
Since that night, I had been trying to put this vision of mine into a story but have failed miserably at every single one of my attempts.
I couldn't understand why God had charged me with something like this when I couldn't write a story to save my life; I was barely able to focus long enough to read a book let alone write one. Not only that, but I had always been a very slow reader compared to others.
So I stopped writing and completely turned away from any further attempts because there was no way that I could ever write a book, or at least that is what I thought. And although I had given up, God had not and He kept bringing it back into my life no matter how far I pushed it away.
My first attempt at this novel went straight into the garbage. And even after reading many books on writing as well as character and plot development, I couldn't see much improvement in any of my writings. Therefore, the second through thirty-something attempts soon followed the first.
At the time, I didn't understand why God would not let this go when all I was doing was failing miserably over and over again. So I stopped partway through the last attempt of my novel and I began doing short stories just to get a feel of how others viewed my writing (You can read some of them HERE).
The responses that I had gotten were so wonderful that I broke down and cried. One person even told me that my writing style was very similar to H.P. Lovecraft. At the time, I didn't know who that was so I started reading some of his works. They were right: my writing style was just like his!
My early works were nothing like this at all ... trust me, they were terrible! It took me half of my life to finally get it right, but now that I am ready to complete my novel I can no longer afford to do so.
I lost my home and haven't been able to find a decent job in ages; mainly because I was never able to finish school. You can read more about it by clicking HERE.
And if you could help spread the word for me, I would be eternally grateful!
Please donate using the provided links on this page, or on my official GOFUNDME, PATREON and/or KICKSTARTER pages so that I can finish my novels and go to film school to turn my vision into movies for all the world to see.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. God Bless you all!
Best wishes and warm regards,
